The Urban Landscape offers the challenge of incorporating more man-made objects compared to Mother Nature’s.

We will explore the ways to adapt composition, rendering, perspective and other techniques used to create successful urban sketches.

The Urban Landscape includes both outdoor scenes as well as indoor scenes, such as hotel lobbies or your very own living room. This course will conclude with the scale-up of one of your sketches into a refined drawing or full color painting.

Course topics will include: various sketching techniques, recognizing abstract patterns, Notan, intuitive perspective, using Mondrian tools, magic hour and more.

The class will meet in the studio and at various locations in the metro area. The Urban Landscape will benefit the beginner as well as the advanced, seasoned artist.

Note: there will be no class May 14.
