Color and composition are key elements contributing to successful works of art. Regardless of medium, composition and color are essential in keeping the viewer engaged with your work.
This course will reveal how to build underlying layers of color that will support and interact with each other and the final layers of what, in landscape painting for example, is called “local color.”
With regard to composition, the course will explore the mechanisms behind the organization of visual elements, and how to apply them to create a cohesive and harmonious structure.
Course topics will also include: color temperature, color contrast, mass principle, unity, balance, rhythm, foreshortening, mood and atmosphere.
All art mediums are welcome!
Please sign up early; class size is limited.
