John Meister: Business of Art—Marketing

Join artist, John Meister, for a two-day workshop on marketing yourself and your art. This workshop is designed specifically for artists and will approach the topics from that perspective. 

We will cover topics related to presentation, networking and marketing. We will discuss ways that you can become a positive advocate for your artwork and effective ways to communicate that to others and get results. 

Whether your goal is to expand your connections to the art community, find students, or sell more art, this course will help you form a plan and implement it. The second half of the class will be geared more toward what you produce, how you present it, and how to document it. 

We will discuss archiving your art, various options to sell your art, constructive communication with potential buyers that can help close the deal, and how you can turn a buyer into a collector. We will also learn about and demystify all of the technical jargon associated with digital images required for entering your work in shows, purchasing advertising, etc. 

Effective marketing can help you sell more of your work and it increases the perceived value of the arts in our area! Whether or not you are interested in moving your own art, you can be a constructive influence in our greater art community! 

Students should bring note taking materials and any printed material related to your career as an artist.
