Hikers, biologists, birdwatchers, teachers, campers, anyone can learn to sketch in the field.
Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced sketcher, this course will enhance your skills in depicting the great outdoors. This class will provide you with the tools you need to learn from your observations of nature as well as to capture what you have seen.
We will study rendering techniques, field sketches, composition, color wash, diagraming, and more. We will find patterns, designs and structures present in even the most minuscule particle of natural form.
Subjects of our studies will include flowers, trees, animals, sky/clouds, Shakkai (The Hidden Landscape), water and terrain.
Class will meet at the BioPark, Mediterranean Conservatory, Sasebo Japanese Garden, Zoo, as well as in the studio.
