This workshop will be an examination of some of the infinite possibilities of abstract image making. Whether you have experience working non-objectively or not, the class is about the seductive qualities and expressive potential of pigment, oil or acrylic. Linear concerns, color and value, form and surface treatments will be objectively manipulated as well as discussions about intent, atmosphere, narrative directions and or purely formal, pictorial issues. Working abstractly is deceptively difficult and amazingly rewarding since every decision that you make is coming from you, the responsibility and excitement of the unknown are yours. All painting mediums are welcome but Michael has the most experience with oils and acrylics.
Please sign up early; class size is limited.
