Join VASILI KATAKIS in this unique outdoor workshop designed to give you a clearer understanding of how light and shadow interact, thereby bringing a greater sense of depth and dimension to your work. We will be using the largest and most powerful light source on the planet - our sun. Students will apply the methods and techniques to drawing structures and objects found en plein aire, both natural and manmade. The workshop will cover several topics: shadow theory, chiaroscuro, bedbug line, terminator, shadow perspective, notan and quality of light (soft/hard, warm/cool, reflected, diffused, dappled, etc.). Most classes will take place en plein air. All dry media welcome.
Please sign up early; class size is limited.
