Cynthia Rowland: Composing the Contemporary Still Life in Oils (Tuesdays)

This class is designed to give you the fundamental tools and skills to paint from life. Working from a still life that you will compose, you will learn how to translate your subject into a convincing and successful painting. 

We will cover proportion, composition and movement when setting up the subject, all the while learning to simplifying its complexity. Then we will delve into and develop a thorough understanding of the paint and how to use it. 

You will gain a strong working knowledge of how color can become light, air, shape and form - the language that is painting.
