Join Stephanie Lerma in this super fun workshop where you will learn western paper- making techniques followed by basic bookmaking designs using your own handmade paper.

Using a variety of cooked pulps such as -onion, leek, rhubarb, eggplant - as well as cotton and abaca, we will experiment with wet fuse collage, embedding and embossing using botanicals and scrap papers.

With your made papers, we can explore non-toxic transfer printing and simple book bindings including accordion, stab and portfolios.

You will also have the opportunity to explore wet casting using bowls, lampshades or small structures of your choice. Come prepared for wet work and discovering the wonderful possibilities in the creation of your own beautiful paper.

A $15 materials fee should be paid directly to the instructor at the first class meeting. Additional materials will be discussed according to individual projects.
