Great artists of the past, Manet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Mondrian, Dine, to name a few, have turned to the flower for some of their most expressive work.
Successful flower painting requires a complete knowledge of the principles and language of fine art. Cynthia will begin each day with a demonstration and lecture, so the student will gain a better understanding of these principles, sharing her tips and techniques. These principles and techniques include composition, transparent lay-in, light and temperature, color harmony, space and edges.
During the intensive workshop, students can work on smaller canvases to closely examine the characteristic shapes and forms of each flowers or, they can work on a more complex contemporary floral still life.
Included in this class are flowers and, especially, colors related to spring - Tulips, Lilies, Daffodils, Pansies, etc.
Class size is limited to 12 students so that each participant receives one-on-one instruction. Flowers will be provided.
