The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, governance, establishes policy, oversees the operations and financial performance of the New Mexico Art League and assesses the Board’s own effectiveness. New members will be supported by the existing Board of Directors to help ease the transition into this leadership role. Participation on the Board is voluntary and there is no remuneration for service.

The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, governance, establishes policy andoversees the operations and financial performance of the New Mexico Art League.

The Board is particularly interested in identifying an individual with a finance and/or

accounting background to serve as Treasurer of the organization. The Treasurer of the

organization maintains the original books and records of the organization, maintains

accurate records of all Art League financial activity on a monthly basis, maintains internal

controls, makes disbursements, prepares a written report at least quarterly to the NMAL

Board regarding NMAL’s financial status, submits all required financial reports and

documents to government agencies, and submits financial records for external audit orupon request of the Board.

A working knowledge of QuickBooks is desired.

Expected commitment for the volunteer Treasurer position is approximately 30 hours per month.
