Iva Morris: Painting the Landscape in Pastels in the Studio and on Location (Saturdays)

Join pastelist and painter Iva Morris in exploring a variety of multi-media techniques to create vibrant pastels.

Learn how to employ a layering technique of toned ground and gouache underpainting to create depth and value in your work.

In this eight week class, Morris will help you to create work with texture, using pastel glazing effects. Each class will tackle a new problem associated with building a successful landscape painting: foreground, background, value, color, and space.

For the first class be sure to bring photographs and sketches to work from. Later classes will be conducted from life and include plein air sessions.
