Frank Fuchs: Urban Sketching with Watercolor

Join Frank in this 5-day workshop exploring methods and materials for urban landscape sketching in watercolor. 

We will begin by learning how to handle watercolor as a sketching tool while studying value and compositional design. 

We will practice quick on-site sketching and watercolor painting techniques each day as we meet on location (at pre-determined destinations) as well meeting back at the studio for lectures and demonstrations. 

Students will be encouraged to complete a series of quickly executed sketches/paintings both on-site and in the studio using photos as reference. Principles of composition, color theory, methods and materials will be discussed. Frank will present options for creating your personalized watercolor travel kit. 

Individual instruction will be given to each student.
